ELD participants are encouraged to become civically engaged and have a voice in the communities they serve. See below for a list of Colorado Boards and Commissions and our partner youth development programs, where there may be available board/commission service positions or volunteer opportunities.

Partner Youth Development Programs: Volunteer Opportunities:
Multicultural Youth Leadership Initiative for Excellence (MYLIFE): An eight-month program for 8th grade students in both Pueblo City Schools and Pueblo District 70. The project’s mission is to create a leadership experience for Pueblo youth of all ethnic heritages that enhances civic engagement, fosters leadership, encourages education and promotes career and professional development. UCCS Pre-Collegiate Program “The College Experience:” An academic program for college-bound high school students in the Pikes Peak region designed to motivate and prepare first generation and military-dependent students. To get involved contact pcdp@uccs.edu or 719-255-3239.
