Kayla Shock joined El Pomar Foundation as a member of the 2019 Fellowship class. As a Fellow, Kayla works on Communications, Fellowship Recruiting, Military Affairs, Southeast Colorado Springs Initiative and Superintendents Leadership Endowment. Additionally, Kayla supports the San Juan region.
Kayla was raised in Colorado Springs, CO and graduated magna cum laude from University of Colorado Colorado Springs with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in political science. During her tenure there, Kayla was a student ambassador in the Office of Admissions and a community engagement assistant for the UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art. She was also a Reach Your Peak scholar, a peer leader in the Gateway Program Seminar course for freshman students, and vice president of a campus political organization. Kayla is also a member of the Air Force Reserves and currently provides air transportation support in the 39th Aerial Port Squadron at Peterson Air Force Base.
