Haley Ballenger joined El Pomar Foundation as a member of the 2017 Fellowship class. As a Fellow, Haley works on Awards for Excellence, ACYPL-Japan, New Fellow Orientation, Hundred Club of Colorado Springs, the Southeast Colorado Springs Project, in addition to supporting the High Country and Southeast regions.
Born in Colorado Springs, Haley graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in communication studies, minors in Spanish and sociology, and President’s Leadership Program honors. Since graduating in 2012, Haley: pioneered the Educar es Fiesta Dance Program for at-risk youth in Bolivia; developed the Yum Book Bytes! literacy program and Teen Ambassador Group at Sedona Public Library; and served with the U.S. Peace Corps – Dominican Republic. Most recently, Haley attained national accreditation as a Certified Healthcare Interpreter for the Spanish language while working on language access strategy at St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson, Wyoming
