Conference and facilities support position that requires the ability to setup rooms for meetings, trainings, receptions, dinner and other events as well as support the needs of groups utilizing El Pomar facilities.  Additional support related to audio/visual needs, beverages, and catering may be necessary for these guests.  Requires a strong sense of customer service and approachability as well as an ability to work well with members of a diverse team.  

Conference support will be performed primarily at Penrose House but will also include El Pomar Foundation Executive Offices, Copper Building, Garden Pavilion, Penrose Heritage Museum, and Will Rogers Shrine.  Will often require weekend and/or evening responsibilities and will be primarily an on-call staff person to support the two full-time conference and facilities support staff during busy weeks and/or time off.

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct staffing support for Penrose House conference center, specifically with regard to meeting room setup – chairs, tables, linens, notepads, pens, beverages, and  audio/visual equipment 
  • Supports set-up of audio/visual components of the house to include: flat screens, laptops, projectors, and audio systems in meeting rooms and reception spaces
  • Respond to the conference support needs of Penrose House guests during daily meetings and special events
  • Assist with basic maintenance of Penrose House, to include carpet cleaning, marble floor care, and various other maintenance tasks as necessary 
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to overall support of Penrose House facility, to include basic snow removal, leaf blowing, and basic landscape support

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Excellent customer service skills

Education and Experience:
