North Council member Bob Tointon has been named the 2019 Citizen of the West, the top honor awarded by the National Western Stock Show.
Each year a Citizen of the West is selected from community leaders who exemplify the spirit and determination of a western pioneer. These modern day pioneers are honored for their economic and philanthropic endeavors in the West. We are very pleased to announce Robert “Bob” Tointon as the 41st Citizen of the West!
After serving in the United States Air Force, Bob attended Kansas State University where he received a degree in Civil Engineering and met his wife Betty. He was engaged in many aspects of general contracting with Hensel Phelps Construction Company over the next twenty years, and in 1975 became the President and CEO.
