(Colorado Springs, CO) – June 3, 2016 – El Pomar Foundation has teamed with several community organizations to provide local military families with an unforgettable Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® experience. All of the tickets for the Saturday, June 11th 11:00am performance of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents Circus Xtreme, at the Broadmoor World Arena, have been distributed for free to military families in the area. Every year since 2004 El Pomar’s Military Assistance Fund has supported a Military Appreciation Day to offer families from Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, U.S. Air Force Academy, and Schriever Air Force Base, a day of family entertainment in the community.  This year is no different as approximately 5,000 seats at the Broadmoor World Arena will be filled with military personnel and their families from each of Colorado’s military installations.

“We hope that this day can, in some small way, show how thankful our community is for the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make every day,” said El Pomar Foundation Chairman and CEO William J. Hybl.

Terrance McWilliams, El Pomar’s Vice President of Military Affairs and Fort Carson’s former Command Sergeant Major, will host the performance as the Guest Ringmaster entertaining families throughout the performance, which commences at 11:00am.  More than 5,000 people, families from Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, U.S. Air Force Academy and Schriever Air Force Base, will attend Military Family Appreciation Day this year.

This is the tenth consecutive year that El Pomar Foundation has teamed with other community organizations to sponsor a military family appreciation day at the circus. El Pomar’s internal Anna Keesling Ackerman Fund, the Pikes Peak United Way Military Family Assistance Fund and the Broadmoor World Arena Youth and Community Fund have contributed to make the event possible this year.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TICKETS: All tickets for this performance have already been distributed, no tickets remain for distribution, and tickets are not sold for this performance.
