Nonprofits in Northwest Colorado Receive $187,000+

Last week, El Pomar’s Northwest Regional Council hosted a grants presentation in Grand Junction where Council members distributed more than $187,000 to six nonprofits. A local television station was on scene to capture the event; check out the video to hear more about the Northwest Regional Council’s workforce development efforts.

 The full list of grantees includes:

  • Central High School, Grand Junction - $38,500
    Support for the development of a STEM pathway program
  • Grand Junction High School, Grand Junction - $28,000
    Support for the STRIVE Program
  • Hayden School District RE-1, Hayden - $50,000
    Funding for the development of a computer-aided design program at the Babson-Carpenter Career and Technical Education Center
  • Riverside Educational Center, Grand Junction - $10,000
    General operating support grant
  • Western Colorado Math and Science Center, Inc., Grand Junction - $50,000
    Support for the STEM Fellows program
  • YouthEntity, Carbondale - $11,000
    Funding for a kitchen renovation and materials for the “I am Financial Knowledge” program
