Hambrick Fund Makes Emergency Grants to Horse Rescue Organizations Affected by Hay Shortage

Tags:

Colorado’s prolonged drought has severely affected the state’s hay production, resulting in a devastating shortage and an increase in prices by roughly 30 percent compared to this time last year. In light of this dramatic increase, El Pomar’s internal Hambrick Fund recently designated $25,000 in emergency grants to nine different horse rescue organizations across the state.

On Thursday, Hal Littrell, special adviser to the Hambrick Fund, joined El Pomar staffers on the Hambrick team to deliver grants to Front Range Equine Rescue in Larkspur and Black Forest Animal Sanctuary. Other grant recipients include:

  • Archway Foal Rescue, Laporte
  • Colorado Horse Rescue, Longmont
  • Denkai Animal Sanctuary, Greeley
  • Dream Catcher Animal Therapy, Olathe
  • Far View Horse Rescue, Fairplay
  • Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue, Ramah
