Fellowship Snapshot: Ryan and ACYPL

For the past 19 years, El Pomar has welcomed 53 delegations from 39 different countries as part of the American Council of Young Political Leaders program. Every year, El Pomar hosts two to three different delegations, each emphasizing the importance of intercultural and political exchanges through meetings with elected officials, constitutional officers, and community leaders at all levels.

Last fall, a team of fellows led a group of 14 young political leaders from Indonesia, Malaysia, Samoa, Marshall Islands, and the Philippines for a special “Election Delegation” that focused on the American electoral process. In an intense and eye-opening experience, both fellows and delegates were able to cross cultural gaps and develop close friendships with one another.
