The Senior Resource Development Agency of Pueblo is planning to break ground in the next month on a new patio at their center in downtown Pueblo.
The Joseph H. Edwards Active Adult Center is located at 230 N. Union Ave. The agency said they will break ground on the second floor patio on Friday, Dec. 15th. at 9:00 a.m.
When it is finished the space will be expanded and enclosed to create a 1,100 square foot patio. The new space is slated to be used as a multi-purpose room that the agency will make available for non-profits and rental for private sector meetings.
"The overall goal of this capital expansion campaign is to create a functional space, enabling SRDA staff and community partners to deliver top-notch programming and services for the individuals of Pueblo County," said SRDA Pueblo CEO Steve Nawrocki. "The Board of Directors and leadership team at SRDA are excited to offer this space to the seniors of Pueblo and our community-at-large."
The project is being paid for by donations, including a $60,000 donation from The Daniels Fund, based in Denver. Other significant funders include the Boettcher Foundation, El Pomar Foundation, Frank I. Lamb Foundation. The project is set for completion in the spring of 2018.
