Recently, El Pomar Foundation awarded more than $200,000 in grants to seven outstanding nonprofits from across the state through the Awards for Excellence program. Over the next few weeks, we would like to highlight the impact Awards for Excellence winners are having on the people of Colorado.
Goodwill may be known for its many retail stores, but the impact of the organization extends much further. This year’s winner of the R.J. Montgomery Award for Excellence in Human Services, Discover Goodwill, invites you to discover just how much further.
Discover Goodwill is dedicated to helping people reach their highest level of personal and economic independence. The organization’s newest program, Possibilities, presents a “unique learning model that engages program participants through a series of new interactions and experiences,” according to President and CEO Karla Grazier. As a result, participants build self-esteem and confidence while learning valuable life-skills.
What makes Discover Goodwill a winner? Grazier explains, “everyone here at Goodwill is passionate about excellence, and that’s what it takes.”
