A For-Profit with a Nonprofit Soul


Recently, The New York Times highlighted an emerging form of philanthropy that strives to bridge the divide between the nonprofit and business worlds. Low-profit limited liability companies, also known as L3Cs, are part social benefit and part low-profit entities. Though currently not supported in Colorado, L3Cs are now allowed in more than a dozen states and two Indian tribes.
