Recipients of Karl E. Eitel Fund, Ferrand Fund, and Trustee oustanding service grants joined El Pomar staff at Penrose House last night for a reception honoring this year’s winners. Over $416,000 was given to 76 organizations from across the state. After remarks by El Pomar Foundation CEO and Chairman Bill Hybl, President and Chief Investment Officer R. Thayer Tutt Jr., and Trustee Judy Bell, attendees enjoyed an opportunity to meet recipients over warm beverages and holiday cookies.
About the Karl E. Eitel Fund:The fund works to support outstanding Colorado nonprofits that serve at-risk youth. Created in the name of former El Pomar Trustee Karl Eitel, the fund provides funding for direct service programs focusing on youth development. Organizations are nominated and selected by a panel that includes Eitel family members and El Pomar trustees and staff.
About the Ferrand Fund: Established in 2005, the Ferrand Fund is a grantmaking opportunity for second-year fellows of El Pomar Foundation to honor the will of Dorothy Ferrand by making grant recommendations to the trustees. In her bequest to El Pomar Foundation, Mrs. Ferrand designated her that her financial gift “shall be used solely in the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado for the education, medical, health care, dental, housing, and other needs of especially poor children and their parents.”
