College Readiness and Success Workshop Series
Action Plan: The workshop series will address a range of topics including college success, self advocacy, financial literacy, pre-collegiate resources, and retention. This comprehensive workshop series will consist of four workshops at no cost to students and families. All workshops are facilitated by higher education professionals and are designed to expose students to resources and opportunities for post secondary education. The workshop series will serve 140 students. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.
The College Readiness and Success Workshop Series is designed to support and encourage:

Students who are interested in developing academic and leadership skills; need assistance with goal orientation and organization; currently have a "C or better" grade point average

Parents and family involvement

Principals/teachers /counselors to serve as "Student Recruitment Coordinators"
Resource Guide
Action plan: Create, design and disseminate (hard copy and online) a comprehensive resource guide to identify programs, organizations, and events that connects youth to post-secondary education opportunities.
Educating Children of Color Summit
Action Plan: Provide support to the Educating Children of Color Summit and encourage all workshop participants to attend the annual summit. The summit seeks to dismantle the cradle to prison pipeline for children of color, and children in poverty, through education.
