William J. Hybl
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, El Pomar Foundation
William J. Hybl is chairman and chief executive officer of El Pomar Foundation. In addition to his leadership of El Pomar for more than 35 years, Hybl has been engaged in a lifelong commitment to public service. He has served as civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army since 1986. In March 2008, Mr. Hybl was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the chairman of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy. In 2001, President George W. Bush appointed him as U.S. Representative to the 56th General Assembly of the United Nations.
Hybl was president of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) during four Olympic Games and is currently president emeritus of the USOC. Hybl is vice chairman of the board of the BROADMOOR Hotel, Inc., and president of the Air Force Academy Foundation and The Hundred Club of Colorado Springs. He is also on the national board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
Hybl was named 2003 Citizen of the West and in 2005 Hybl was re-elected to The Colorado College board of trustees. He served in the Colorado Legislature in 1972-73, and was special counsel to President Ronald Reagan in 1981. Hybl is a graduate of The Colorado College and earned his J.D. at the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder.
Hybl serves as El Pomar's lead trustee in the Southeast Region.
