Dean Brookie, Southwest Region

Mr. Brookie established his architecture and planning firm based in Durango in 1980. He has dedicated much of his career to developing affordable housing throughout La Plata County as well as historic preservation in Historic Downtowns. Most recently he has been completing a Campus Renovation for Antioch College including authoring a Climate Action Plan and sustainability guidelines. He currently serves on the Boards of Durango Adult Education and Habitat for Humanity, and was a founding member of Boys and Girls Club of La Plata County.

He was honored as Volunteer of the year for Habitat for Humanity in Colorado for his design assistance for family housing.

Mr. Brookie has three children residing in Washington, D.C., Denver, and London.
